How to Send a Direct Text
1. Search for the person you'd like to send a direct message.
2. Select their Mobile Number
3. If the member is opted-in for messaging, the Direct TXT window will populate. If they are not opted-in for messaging, a warning message will be displayed. Only members opted-in for messaging are eligible to receive text messages from the Dialog Health platform.
You may choose a pre-populated Template, or free text a personalized response in the text box. Your message may contain up to 6 SMS or 918 GSM characters. The SMS and Character Counter in the bottom right-hand corner will help you keep track of your message length.
To learn more about creating templates, click HERE.
The use of certain characters may restrict the amount of characters you are allowed to use in 1 message. To learn more about how Unicode characters affect message length, click HERE. - Group(s): The direct text window will display the opt-in groups that the subscriber currently falls under. This can be important to distinguish if you are texting more than one type of audience in your console (i.e., Staff and Patients, English and Spanish-speaking subscribers).
- Audience: This defaults to the Patient only, but you have the option to send a message to both the Patient and Caregiver or only the Caregiver. To learn more about Caregiver messaging, click HERE.
- Dynamic Tags: Use this feature to further personalize your direct engagement (i.e., <firstName>). To learn more about dynamic tags, click HERE.
4. Select Send after you have configured your direct text message. A confirmation message will display to confirm that your message has been sent. When you review the person's messaging history, you will be able to see the user who sent the direct text message, along with the date and time stamp that the message was sent.
Our support line is monitored Monday through Friday from 8:00 am – 6:00 pm CST
