Create & Edit Messaging Templates

When a Template May Be Helpful

Templates can save your team time when typing out messages commonly sent from the Dialog Health platform. Any user type can access templates when creating a message, however, in order to Create and Edit templates, you must maintain administrative credentials in Dialog Health.

How to Create a Template

1. Navigate to the Setup Tab
2. Select the Templates subtab
3. Select + Add Template



4. Create Direct Text Template
  1. Name: What do you want to call your template? This will be for internal use only, make it easy for your team to search for templates.
  2. Text: Enter the message that you'd like to create a template of. Use the character counter tool in the bottom-right corner to monitor the length of your message.
5. Select Save



How to Edit or Delete an Existing Template

1. Within the Templates subtab, select edit to update an existing template, or select delete if you would like to remove the template



Template Ideas and Best Practices

  1. Templates are eligible to hold up to 918 GSM characters per message. Keep it short and sweet! We recommend keeping your messages under 500 characters. To learn more about how Dialog Health helps you keep track of the length of your message, click HERE.
  2. The template name is for internal use only, make sure it's clear and concise so your team can quickly select the correct template.
  3. We recommend including a facility name or acronym in each one of your templates so your audience always knows who they are getting a text message from. 
  4. Use dynamic tags to further personalize your engagement. To learn more about dynamic tags, click HERE.
  5. Use templates to support quick replies to your multilingual audience.
