What is a Keyword?
System Keywords
All incoming text messages will be replied to with a predefined System Reply. System Keywords consist of:
OptIn
OptOut
Help
Already Opted In
Unknown
Caregiver Confirm Opt-In Message
Caregiver Opt-in Notification Message
Caregiver Opt-Out Message
Caregiver Opt-In Notification to Patient Message
System Keywords are customizable, but cannot be removed or deactivated. To learn more about recommended best practices on the content of your System keywords, click HERE.
Console Keywords
Just like subscribers can receive more information by texting "Help", your team can set up unique keywords that trigger specific responses when the Console Keyword is initiated. Console Keywords and System Keywords can only be activated by members who are currently opted-in to your console for texting.
TXT4Info Keywords
This is a method of communication through Dialog Health that you can use to disperse information to your audience without having to opt the person in for texting. To learn more about Text4Info, click
HERE.
How to Create a Console Keyword
1. Navigate to the Setup tab.
2. Within the Keywords sub tab, select + Add Keyword
3. Create your own Console Keyword:
Name
What you'd like to label your Keyword as.
Type
There are two options Console Keyword and TXT4Info. We will leave this on Console Keyword since that is what we are creating in this example, however, the process for creating a TXT4Info keyword is the same.
Keyword
This is the word you will choose for the subscriber to text to receive the message you attach to your keyword.
Show in Triage
By selecting this option, you can bring these responses to your teams attention under the "Other Keywords" tab located in Triage. To learn more about hiding and adding Keyword responses to Triage, click HERE.
Message
This message is completely customizable to whatever you'd like your subscriber to receive. This message should preferably consist of information you want to provide to your subscriber.
After you finish creating your Console Keyword and you select Save, you will be able to see the new Keyword by scrolling to the bottom of your list of Keywords. In the top right hand corner of your keyword you have the options to select Edit, if you'd like to make any changes, or Delete if you'd like to remove the Keyword you created.
Now that this Console Keyword is created, per this example, whenever one of my subscriber's texts the phrase MAP to my console, they will receive directions to the hospital and instructions on what to do upon arrival.
How to Link a Console Keyword
You have the ability to utilize Console Keywords in your Campaign Messages, System Keyword Campaigns (Opt-In, Opt-Out, Unknown, etc.), Direct Text Messages, and Ad-Hoc Broadcasts. In the example below I will base the scenario around an Ad-Hoc Broadcast. Using Console Keywords in Ad-Hoc broadcasts can be helpful when you'd like the audience to be able to text back and receive an automated response.
I created a Ad-Hoc broadcast to remind my team about the upcoming holiday party. The Holiday party is being hosted in a different location than normal, and I want to make sure everyone knows how to get there.
