What is Text 4 Info?
This is a method of communication through Dialog Health that you can use to disperse information to your audience without having to initiate the conversation or opt the person in for texting. In this article, we will review how you can leverage custom keywords to send text messages without opt-in via Text 4 Info.
Dialog Health Phone Number
Each Dialog Health client is either assigned a 5-digit Short Code or a 10-digit Long Code. This is the number that your audience will receive a text message from when you communicate with them from your Dialog Health console. You can find your number by selecting the Console Name drop-down in the top right-hand corner.
Your audience must text your Text 4 Info keyword to your Dialog Health phone number to trigger your customized keyword to send. In the example below, my Dialog Health phone number is 53103.
Text 4 Info Configuration
This keyword is quite literally the "key" for your audience to receive information for your console without having to opt-in for messaging. Your team can have multiple Text 4 Info keywords in one console. It is important to make sure that the keyword you configure is unique to your console. To create a Text 4 Info Keyword:
1) Navigate to the Setup Tab, and you'll land on the Keywords subtab.
2) To create a Text 4 Info keyword, select +Add Keyword
3) Create Keyword
- Name - Create a name for your keyword, this will be for internal use only.
- Type - Select Text 4 Info from the drop-down
- Keyword - Create a unique keyword that will be easy for your subscribers to text
- Show in Triage - Select this check box if your team would like to be alerted when the Text 4 Info keyword is texted. Incoming responses will be shown on the Home Tab in Triage under Other Keywords.
- Message - Type in the message that you'd like your audience to receive when they send your Text 4 Info keyword to your Dialog Health phone number.
4) Select Save upon completion, and your Text 4 Info will be live.
Implementing Text 4 Info
If a person has your 5-digit Short Code, or 10-digit Long Code, along with your unique Text 4 Info Keyword, they can remotely receive information from your console without having to opt-in. In the example below, the Text 4 Info Keyword is JOBS2023.
When a member texts the Text 4 Info keyword to your Dialog Health console, it will create a Null profile if that person has never been added to Dialog Health. TXT4Info does not pick up First/Last Names, Identification Numbers, Demographics, or Misc Fields. If you need this information stored in Dialog Health, you will have to manually update that person's profile. To learn more about editing/adding person profiles, click HERE.
If a person continues to send messages after they receive your TXT4nfo message, they will be alerted that they are not opted-in for messaging. As a reminder, TXT4Info disseminates information without opting in the member for messaging. To read more about how to opt-in someone for messaging, click HERE.
